# valueReference

A secondary value that provides additional information on the original value, e.g. a reference temperature or a type of measurement.

## Expected Types

| Type | Description |
|------|-------------|
| [DefinedTerm](https://schema.org.ai/DefinedTerm) | A word, name, acronym, phrase, etc. with a formal definition. Often used in the context of category or subject classification, glossaries or dictionaries, product or creative work types, etc. Use the name property for the term being defined, use termCode if the term has an alpha-numeric code allocated, use description to provide the definition of the term. Use the about property to specify what the term is about. |
| [Enumeration](https://schema.org.ai/Enumeration) | Lists or enumerations—for example, a list of cuisines or music genres, etc. |
| [MeasurementTypeEnumeration](https://schema.org.ai/MeasurementTypeEnumeration) | Enumeration of common measurement types (or dimensions), for example "chest" for a person, "inseam" for pants, "gauge" for screws, or "wheel" for bicycles. |
| [PropertyValue](https://schema.org.ai/PropertyValue) | A property-value pair, e.g. representing a feature of a product or place. Use the 'name' property for the name of the property. If there is an additional human-readable version of the value, put that into the 'description' property. Always use specific schema.org properties when a) they exist and b) you can populate them. Using PropertyValue as a substitute will typically not trigger the same effect as using the original, specific property. |
| [QualitativeValue](https://schema.org.ai/QualitativeValue) | A predefined value for a product characteristic, e.g. the power cord plug type 'US' or the garment sizes 'S', 'M', 'L', and 'XL'. |
| [QuantitativeValue](https://schema.org.ai/QuantitativeValue) | A point value or interval for product characteristics and other purposes. |
| [StructuredValue](https://schema.org.ai/StructuredValue) | Structured values are used when the value of a property has a more complex structure than simply being a textual value or a reference to another thing. |
| [Text](https://schema.org.ai/Text) | Data type: Text. |
